I'm a tutor who is based out of New York City, where I enjoy reading, making art, and studying hip hop history when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have a wealth of experience working in both direct education and education administration. I am absolutely passionate about education in general, as well as connecting with my students and their parents on a personal level. This passion for really getting to know my students and their families is what I believe has made me a successful educator. One example of the work I've done is a semester I spent working as a teacher's aide at The Christian Hope Academy on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio. I worked with young men from ages 12 - 18 who were all from inner city neighborhoods. These men lived briefly at the academy because of prior criminal offenses. This experience taught me the diversity that can exist within just one classroom. I soon realized that I needed to individually engage each of my students if I wanted them to get the most out of our time together. So, that's what I did. I developed individualized lesson plans that offered my students targeted practice in the areas they needed it most. That's exactly what I continue to do in my tutoring work today. I love engaging with my students and providing them with individualized lessons that allow them to really excel in their coursework.
